From June 27 to 30, Bogotá will host the International Children’s Basketball Festival of the Americas, an event that will bring together more than 500 boys and girls from six Latin American countries, around sports as a driver of social transformation.
The initiative, organized by the Pumas Basketball Club, will be supported by CUANTICO, a Latin American company specialized in GovTech innovation and purpose-driven digital transformation. The company assumes this support as part of its commitment to promoting initiatives with regional impact in education, sports, and citizenship.
For four days, the courts of Parque Recreo Deportivo El Salitre, Compensar, Colegio Cafam, and Colegio Distrital Instituto Técnico Francisco José Caldas —all located in northern Bogotá— will be the stage for competitions in categories ranging from ages 10 to 17, for both boys and girls. However, the focus goes beyond scores: under the motto ‘Basketball for Good’, the festival is envisioned as a platform for integration, youth leadership, and values-based education.
“Seeing hundreds of children sharing, growing, and dreaming on the court is a bet on a stronger, more united Latin America with solid values”, said Daniel Medina, CEO of CUANTICO and former basketball player.
In addition to the games, the event will offer training spaces led by CUANTICO, addressing topics such as responsible technology, youth leadership, and digital citizenship, aimed at players, coaches, and attending families.

CUANTICO’s support is not by chance. Its founders, Daniel and Lina Medina, have a background in high-performance sports within the Olympic system (FIBA Basketball) and the Paralympic system (Wheelchair Basketball). Today, from within the technology ecosystem, they transfer the principles of sport — teamwork, resilience, discipline — to projects with a social purpose.
“For us, supporting this festival is a deeply personal act. Basketball shaped us as individuals, gave us character, and taught us to get back up after every fall”, says Lina Medina, CUANTICO’s Marketing Director.
The festival will feature delegations from Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Chile, and Colombia, establishing itself as a regional benchmark in children’s basketball. In every game, the goal will be not only to compete but also to share — a commitment to fair play, diversity, and inclusion.
This event is part of the ‘Cuantico with Purpose’ program, an initiative that promotes young communities’ access to technology, education, and holistic development.
“The future is built in classrooms, in homes… and also on the courts. That’s why we are committed to an ecosystem where sports, technology, and citizenship coexist from childhood”, concludes Lina Medina.
